जहाँगीर का जन्म - 1569 AD मे हुआ था। इसके पिता का नाम - जलालुदीन  अकबर और माता का नाम - जोधाबाई था ।

जहांगीर के बचपन का नाम - सलीम और शेखु बाबा था ।

जहांगीर का राज्याभिषेक 03 November 1605 को आगरा के किले मे हुआ था ।

                 - जहाँगीर के पुत्र -

जहाँगीर के 4 प्रमुख पुत्र थे जिनके नाम इस प्रकार है-

1.  खुसरो  -:

यह जहांगीर की पहली पत्नी मानबाई का पुत्र था। मानबाई मानसिंह की बहन थी । जहांगीर ने मानबाई को शाह बेगम की उपाधि दी थी ।

2.  खुर्रम -:

खुर्रम की माता का नाम जोधबाई था जोकि उदयपुर से थी ।

3.   परवेज -:

माता साहिब ए जमान ।

4.   शहरयार  -:

1605 मे  इसके पुत्र खुसरो ने जहांगीर के खिलाफ विद्रोह कर दिया था ।

खुसरो का समर्थन :-  खुसरो का समर्थन इसके मामा मानसिंह जो की उस समय बंगाल के सूबेदार थे, उसके ससुर आजीज कोका, अब्दुल रहीम (लाहौर का दीवान), हसन बेग ( आगरा का दीवान), अर्जुन देव ( सिखों के 5वें गुरु) ने किया था ।
